Pregnancy and infant loss is often called the "Hidden Loss" or the "Unspeakable Loss" because of society's reluctance to recognize these losses and the grief that is associated with such a loss as "real". Unfortunately some will experience the pain of losing a baby during pregnancy or shortly after
birth.
This loss is very
real. We do miss and grieve for our lost babies. We want our
babies lives to be recognized and their death to afforded the same dignity as
that of any other person.
The ribbons are worn on the left breast, above our hearts, where memories of our children are kept. By wearing a ribbon you are showing that your life has been touched by pregnancy
and infant loss. Our ribbons raise awareness and open the door to discussions about the significance
and our loss. An excellent opportunity to raise the awareness of the general public; it is our goal to educate about pregnancy
and infant Loss and the implications for the families who suffer such a loss. Pregnancy does not always result in a happy, healthy, bouncing baby. Our goal is not to depress or to gain pity from strangers, it's simply to educate those who are not aware of how real our pain and grief is to us.
Our Pregnancy and Infant Loss Ribbon Campaign
Throughout the Months of Sept. and Oct. we will be distributing our ribbons locally. We will continue to provide our ribbons via net as required. The proceeds from the sale of each ribbon goes to support Bears For Bereaved Mommies. Each bear is beautifully
and lovingly handcrafted. Our bears are sent to hospitals and funeral homes who have quality bereavement programs, to insure that our bears are made available to those intended. Please support our program by buying a ribbon
and show your support by wearing the ribbon over your heart.
